National Sacrifices' Memorial is the
national monument of Bangladesh is the representation in the recollection of
the valour and the detriment of all those who gave their exists in the Bangladesh Liberation War
of 1971, which brought freedom and parted Bangladesh from Pakistan. The monument is situated in Savar,
about 35 km north-west of the capital, Dhaka. It was planned by Syed Mainul Hossain.
Plans for the monument were started
in 1976. Following the location selection, road and land development, a
nation-wide design opposition was seized in June, 1978. Following assessment of
the 57 suggestions, Syed Mainul Hossain's design was chosen. The main construction
and the fake pond and other services were finished in 1982.
