Shah Jalal (Persi:an شاه جلال; full name:Yamanī Shāh Jalāl
ad-Dīn al-Mujarrad) is a famous
Sufi Muslim symbol in Bengal. Jalal's name is allied with
the Muslim subjugation of north-eastern Bengal and the supper of Islam in Bangladesh
through Sufism.
He was forgotten in Sylhet,
Bangladesh, previously identified as Jalalabad, while the
country's main airport
is named in his honour.
